Recommended Electives for Career Pivoters
Students pivoting into analytics from non-business backgrounds are encouraged to select an iMBA course that builds business domain knowledge in their target industry:
| Target Role | Recommended iMBA Area | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Financial analyst / risk analyst | Financial analysis or accounting | Builds domain vocabulary and financial modeling context |
| Marketing analyst | Digital marketing or consumer behavior | Connects analytics to marketing decision-making |
| Operations / supply chain analyst | Operations management | Builds understanding of process optimization |
| General business analyst | Strategy or organizational behavior | Broadens business acumen for cross-functional roles |
Students with existing business backgrounds (e.g., pivoting from marketing management into marketing analytics) may prefer a course that deepens technical skills instead. Consult with your advisor to select the best fit for your career transition goals.
